Matt is a director interested in everything that plays around the edges: the off-kilter, the camp, and the juxtaposition between the ordinary and absurd. In a landscape that tends to place importance on being grounded, relatable and real, he much prefers to play in the heightened space.
His cinematic style is rich in colour, bold, and playful. He believes the camera is as key to comedy as actor’s performances, and is determined to milk every bit of funny out of every scenario with the right framing and movements.
He has worked with high-profile talent and loves nothing more than drawing a 10/10 performance from them, from world-famous drag queens, to high-profile actors, and pop superstars.
Over his career, he has worked with entertainment giants like Netflix, MTV, BuzzFeed and the BBC, and brands including Samsung, Google, Spotify, Sky, and Diageo. His work has won a Pink News award for Advertising Campaign Of The Year, and been nominated for Broadcast Digital and Lovie Awards.
He prides himself on running an inclusive set, friendly and diverse set, and prioritises telling marginalised stories, especially those from the LGBT+ community he calls home.
